Last day at RnH

Yep! it was the most weird moment of the yeah 07'. Friday,14th dec 07,was last day at RnH and just about a month to go before I leave Bambai, forever. A lot of things to be done, and a zillion memories to cherish...No words can justify how I felt on the last day at RnH. Close buddies decided to treat me at one of my fav joints, Nandos.
I know meeting them would now become a rarity, more so when I leave mumbai... sigh.. But life has its own things in store.:)

Coimbatore visit, Oct 24,2007

It had been some 8 months since i saw my in laws... hence a visit was planned nearing diwali, to meet them all. Unlike Mumbai, I loved the weather there.. Less crowds, good food, silence! Thats life aint it? Lotsa food!! lots! From Sardines to shrimp, to chicken to biryani,to dosai to idlis mom cooks wonderful meals!
We also happened to visit Dhyanalingam which is around 2 hours by road from coimbatore, regulated by Isha Yoga centre.
It is believed to be biggest lingam (13 feet 9 inches) in the world. Scientifically built by an architect Karthikeyan, following a vision by Sadhguru, the lingam has the power to make even those unaware of meditation to experience a state of deep meditativeness and feel the divine energy and vibrations that overflow from this glorious form.
The sad part was that photography wasnt allowed so could only click the farther exteriors of the place.
This place was amazing.... soaking our feet in icecold water flowing over solidified mercury shiv ling, with a copper base, we almost felt some tinge .. some vibes.. weird mixed feelings i must say. I dont quite understand the science behind it , but the place was worth a visit... it was one of the most peaceful places one could ever be to.
The last day of my stay, we went out shopping to The Chennai Silks. Good shop but the crowd is maddening. One might just get a feeling that the locals earn to shop, live to shop shop and shop more!
Above are the photos of the short Coimbatore visit this month. For more, check out my photoblog

The Golden Compass haunts me already!
The post marital derangement is much talked about, and yea of late every odd collegue have been askin me about it " So.. ermm .. hows married life?" Fed up of answering em already i jus give a dirty grin now...
But I guess theres some special gossip potion for those readin this >>> Marriage ROX... our occasional pillow fights, my frowning every alternate day, and him comin back to me to pamper and make it up.. who wldnt like that huh? Marriage is truly an experience of its kind, especially when u spending your life with someone who loves you back equally, or may be more! Oh yes, and one more thing it teaches you for sure is "being lil more responsible"
If you guys are not fed up already.. then i can yap some more for sure...........
RnH (the Visual fx studio I work with)is growing at a pace faster than expected. Its good to learn that the company is growing for sure, but hey! that doesnt not mean I wouldnt be able to hv my lunch and brkfast candidly! The pantry now looks like a typical suburban poultry market! And our new Mr Caterer jus adds to the pain..
On the other hand, of late we have been seriously worrking our arses out! No 5 work wk anymore, we been working on saturdays too, as well as national holidays :D! LOL.. I know one thing for sure, that I would be beaten up if my production manager gets to read this prattle! And the Vfx work on THE GOLDEN COMPASS is speading up....
At times it haunts my sleep! I hv really failed to keep a count of hours i work and hours i travel, but would seriously wana admit that I m loving every bit of the process! Thats pro'lly a reason why I look forward to going to office every next day, to get going with the more challenging work...
I have had a rough day, and my eyes are red and sleepy... so I would hit the bed

Was googling and came across HUFU..now wats hufy? Its nothing but human flesh..I also learnt about how cannible a man could be!eerrrrrr..I dunno probably i wanted to feel more sick so read on..andtrust me i dont want u guys to feel queazy but jus on a general note here it is!

The maddenin stuff i came across
Serano Nanito (human flesh dumplings)
These native dumplings filled with hufu (or human flesh), sago and yam are prized for their taste as well as their ability to make you fierce and brave in tribal combat.
Recipe Ingredients
1 pound Hufu Classic Strips
4 medium size yams
½ pound sago (or 1 medium size parsnip)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Salt
Pepper, freshly ground Preparation Instructions
Cook the yams in a large pot until tender (approximately 45 minutes at high heat). Let the yams cool and then peel and mash thoroughly.
Sprinkle flour out on a flat surface and lay out pre-prepared dough and let rise.
While the dough is rising, prepare filling.
Heat in a large skillet over medium heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Add and cook for 5 minutes 1 pound hufu, chopped in small pieces, salt and pepper to taste. Mix hufu and mashed yams together.
Lightly oil 2 baking sheets. Lay flour on a flat surface and place the dough on the surface. The dough should be between 1/8 (French style) and ¼ inch (PNG style) in thickness. Cut dough into rectangular sections approximately 4 inches long and 3 inches in width. Place a heaping tablespoon of filling in the center of each circle. Moisten one side of dumpling, fold over in half, and pinch together. Place the dumplings on the baking sheets, cover, and let rise until puffy (15-20 minutes).
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Grease baking tray with vegetable (or olive) oil.
Spray dumplings with vegetable (or olive) oil.
Bake until nearly golden, about 20 minutes.

A Dog Named Sex
THIS IS SOME SERIOUS FUN..LOL
Everybody I know who has a dog usually calls him "Rover" or "Spot". I call mine Sex. Now, Sex has been very embarrassing to me. When I went to the City Hall to renew the dog's license, I told the clerk that I would like a license for Sex. He said, "I would like to have one too!" Then I said, "But she is a dog!" He said he didn't care what she looked like. I said, "You don't understand. ... I have had Sex since I was nine years old." He replied, "You must have been quite a strong boy." When I decided to get married, I told the minister that I would like to have Sex at the wedding. He told me to wait until after the wedding was over. I said, "But Sex has played a big part in my life and my whole world revolves around Sex." He said he didn't want to hear about my personal life and would not marry us in his church. I told him everyone would enjoy having Sex at the wedding. The next day we were married at the Justice of the Peace. My family is barred from the church from then on.

When my wife and I went on our honeymoon, I took the dog with me. When we checked into the motel, I told the clerk that I wanted a room for me and my wife and a special room for Sex. He said that every room in the motel is a place for sex. I said, "You don't understand. ... Sex keeps me awake at night." The clerk said, "Me too!"

One day I entered Sex in a contest. But before the competition began, the dog ran away. Another contestant asked me why I was just looking around. I told him that I was going to have Sex in the contest. He said that I should have sold my own tickets. "You don't understand," I said, "I hoped to have Sex on TV." He called me a show off.

When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog. I said, "Your Honor, I had Sex before I was married but Sex left me after I was married." The Judge said, "Me too!"

Last night Sex ran off again. I spent hours looking all over for her. A cop came over and asked me what I was doing in the alley at 4 o'clock in the morning. I said, "I'm looking for Sex." -- My case comes up next Thursday.

Well now I've been thrown in jail, been divorced and had more damn troubles with that dog than I ever foresaw. Why just the other day when I went for my first session with the psychiatrist, she asked me, "What seems to be the trouble?" I replied, "Sex has been my best friend all my life but now it has left me for ever. I couldn't live any longer so lonely." and the doctor said, "Look mister, you should understand that sex isn't a man's best friend
so get yourself a dog."

THE INDIAN MOM
Mom comes to visit her son Kumar for dinner...who lives with a girlroommate Sunita.
During the course of the meal, hismother couldn't helpbut notice how pretty Kumar's, roommate was.
She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Kumarand his roommatethan metthe eye.
Reading his mom's thoughts, Kumar volunteered, "I know what you mustbethinking, but I assure you, Sunita and I are just roommates."About a week later, Sunita came to Kumar saying,"Ever since yourmothercame to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver chutney jar. Youdon'tsuppose she took it, do you?" "Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to besure." So he satdown andwrote : Dear Mother, I'm not saying that you 'did'take the chutneyjarfrom my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the chutney jar.Butthe fact remains that it has been missing eversince you were here fordinner.Love,Kumar

Several days later, Kumar received an email fromhis Mother which read:Dear Son, I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep withSunita, and I'm notsayingthat you 'do not' sleep with Sunita. But the fact remains that if shewassleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the chutney jar by now.
Love,Mom.

Lesson of the day ..... Don't Lie to Your Mother...especially if she is Indian!

The Rainmaker
Completed reading the book..Awesome I must say...The primitive thought that one would indulge would be this is another silly lawyer-lawsuit book...But After reading John's bestseller-The Firm I thought I should read on..John was so interesting the last time i read him..So went on...And to my surprise this book turned out to b such a stick..I loved reading every part of it..Although this book was released in 1995..I unfortunately never had a chance to trace a copy! The book is epitomised by fine literary...fine yet simple enough for a not so vocab freak like me..hehe...
The book begun wid a simple story of a buddin lawyer who struggled to give his bar exams..and struggled his way out financially even...as he was demoralised by his step father who didnt bother to help him a dime!He served at locar bars...did da sluggiest job..yet managed to pass his bar exam in a jiffy. The was John has put this into literary is simply amazing...Secondly he gets stuck wid Mrs Birdie Birdsong who is an oldie in her late 60's..deported from her children n grandchildren..The sole owner of 20 million hard cash
Rudy baylor, the prime charactor...da lawyuer i was refering to,was supposed to make her will...and till most of the book i had a feeling that this was da case that would eventually make a BIG man out of Rudy..but i was wrong
The cse that eventually set him par was against Great Benefit,an insurance company, who eventually fooled their clients...their prime target was the ignorant poor mass, who wouldnt dare hire lawyers...
Great Benefit bad faith case earns Rudy,50 million $,sumthing he would have never dreamt of...
The story is so interactive and makes u stick to it until the last page....
Oppsss I realise that I blabbered too much about THE RAINMAKER ,here
But nonetheless, now,John Grisham is categorised as one of my all time favorite authors!
I would suggest you guys to grab ur own copies :D..Grisham was superkewl wid this one!
